Economics

Introduction:-

The department started in 1964. Prof. G. G. Varpe headed the department in the beginning. At present Prof. N.A. Kate is head & associate professor and Mrs. S. B. Bingardive is working as assistant professor. Post graduate department started in 1992.

Scope and importance:-

Economics is the most important subject in mental, moral and social science faculty. Now a days the subject has multidisciplinary subject. Banking sector, Financial institutes, Stock exchange and Insurance sector are the main Sectors of employment to the student of economics. The basic knowledge of the subject is required in competitive examinations like M. B. A. entrance, M.S.W., C.A., C.S., M.P.S.C., U.P.S.C. etc. In the era of globalization, economics plays an important role.
