Other Backward Classes (OBC) Cell
The College's Cell for Other Backward Classes (OBC) is established in June, 2018 and dedicated to empowering OBC students and staff, tirelessly working to address their diverse challenges. This proactive cell is committed to resolving issues faced by OBC students and also caters to the concerns of minorities. Its objectives encompass educating and empowering marginalized sections of society, ensuring the effective implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of reservation policies by both the State and Central governments. Additionally, the cell offers guidance, counseling, and support to OBC students on various matters, with a particular focus on academic activities.
To uphold these principles, the cell disseminates relevant orders and notifications pertaining to scholarships, teaching and non-teaching appointments, and promotions issued by the Government of India, Government of Maharashtra, University Grants Commission (UGC), and Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). It actively organizes remedial coaching programs for students who require additional support in their studies, facilitates counseling for matters such as admissions, scholarships, recruitment, and promotions. Moreover, it diligently monitors the grievance redressal mechanism to ensure the concerns of both students and staff, including minorities, are addressed effectively.
Objectives
OBC Cell has been created in the college to resolve issues related to the OBC Students. Following are the important Objectives of OBC Cell:
Ø To aware, the OBC students regarding various scholarship program of State& Central Government.
Ø To council and guide OBC students about various issues and help them to manage academic activities.
Ø To resolve problems related to OBC students.
Activities
Ø To circulate State Government and UGC’s decisions about different scholarship programs.
Ø To communicate with the students and motivate them for better future planning.
Ø To deal with representations received from Other Backward Classes (OBC) Candidates regarding their admission, scholarships and other similar matters in the College.
